Nice to meet you,
I'm Valerie

I help exhausted leaders transform teams and organisations from survival mode to sustainable high performance—without another disruptive change programme.

I'm not a traditional HR consultant—my approach comes from years working directly with teams, seeing what creates sustainable transformation in practice.

I'm a conference speaker, author of the forthcoming book "The Space Between" on sustainable organisational change, and I've worked with organisations across sectors on complex team dynamics.

  • LinkedIn

Through my SURVIVE→THRIVE framework, I work with values-driven organisations (especially B-Corps and social enterprises) to create lasting change. I take a holistic approach, listening to where teams are struggling and starting there—whether that's ways of working, decision making patterns, or interpersonal dynamics. When we start where the team's attention is, we can unlock what's always been there—their ability to thrive together—and make it accessible in a way it never has been before.

What this looks like in practice:

  • Projects that were taking 3x their estimated length became predictable and manageable

  • Leaders got their precious time back by breaking invisible patterns in their team's behaviour - and building a supportive team environment within which they were no longer the centre.

  • Teams navigated major operational shifts (like paper-based to fully remote) by accepting each other for who they are - and evolving from there

  • Service organisations transformed how they work with clients, attracting better-fit partnerships

That's evolutionary change, not revolutionary.

Why 'Abdy's In'?

Abdy's In means 'Everyone is in, or welcome' - in Doric, a local dialect to the North East of Scotland.

I grew up in Aberdeenshire in NE Scotland and have lived in Scotland my whole life. It's important to me to stay close to those roots whilst helping others create spaces where everyone is welcome.
